We have one of the highest concentrations of living Holocaust Survivors in New York; lively, kind hearted, and full of life, our Survivors include Members of the RPJC Board of Directors, participants in our knitting circles, and volunteers with our Sisterhood. In addition to our own congregants, The Met Council hosts monthly meetings, dances, and events for Survivors in our Synagogue’s Golden Ballroom.

The Rego Park Jewish Center has long been a home to Jews of various ethnicities and backgrounds, but it’s our community’s Holocaust Survivors that really sets us apart. Founded by American born Jews during the war years, supporting those who have lived through the holocaust and creating an environment where they would feel welcome and supported has always been, and will always continue to be, a most heartfelt mitzvah.
