Religious School
This year is going great in Hebrew School. Students have learned more than half the Alef-Bet and are reading very well. In the very near future, students will start learning prayers. The first will be Modeh Ani which is something we say when we first wake up in the morning.
In addition to reading and writing in Hebrew, some of the things that our students have learned are brachot for each holiday, laws and traditions, the Parshat Hashavua, Hebrew words, and about different mitzvot. The most recent mitzvah project was creating their own tzedakah boxes. We keep one in our classroom and each child is collecting tzedakah at home.
Each month there will be a family program. In December students and parents worked together to create their own chanukiahs. Everyone was very excited and they came out great. In February there will be a family program for Purim and in March there will be a chocolate seder for Pesach.
